Some people have criticized the comic's artwork style as being unusual, with lines that are 'too thick' and colors that aren't bright enough. Mary activates the dream probe and Ernie enters the netherworld as Evil Ernie, where he is greeted by Lady Death, who comes to fulfill her promise to Ernie. When Ernie finds the last cult members, they have just summoned a demon to which they will sacrifice a young girl.

Price and Mary Young are surrounded by 's army of undead zombies, but they manage to reach some grenades which they use to blow up several of them, clearing a path for them to escape. Ernie is distraught, but appears in the real world for a brief moment, using one of Ernie's victims as a threshold between realities. Price and Mary get a glimpse of Lady Death, who is furious at Ernie for getting distracted and stopping the carnage of the living. Evil ernie Death tells Ernie to continue killing in order to get his evil ernie reward and the psycho zombie resumes his murderous spree, driving the stolen hearse like a lunatic across town. Some of the undead have reached Mary's house, where her family, Commissioner Stone and other city officials are holding up against the invasion. The officials realize the seriousness of the situation and they are willing to blame Mary for the outcome, but her family won't take that lightly. At that moment, the Police Department gets instructions to form a barricade to hold the zombies in the city, but they decide to take action instead and go to meet the undead. Unfortunately, the cops are outnumbered by Ernie and his army and are slaughtered. One of the last cops alive manages to injure Ernie evil ernie the head, causing every zombie to feel his pain because of Ernie's mind link with the zombies. By the time the army arrives, Ernie's horde of zombies has increased thanks to the slaughter at the police department. The undead eliminate the army in no time and their numbers continue to grow exponentially, turning the city into a nightmare. Ernie leads evil ernie swarm of zombies, now carrying weapons and driving millitary vehicles to create more mayhem, but soon Ernie gets tired. He feels he has succeeded in his mission and evil ernie wants to claim his reward. He goes to his deam netherworld, where he hopes to find Lady Death. The sultry seductress tempts Ernie and taunts him to chase her around her castle after she removes her clothing. In the meantime, Price and Mary reach the wrecked police department and they go inside, seeking weapons and any signs of life. Mary tries to call home, but the lines are down. Price finds the stash of weapons and arms himself, but he is unaware that they are surrounded by zombies. When the zombies reveals themselves, Price tries to defend himself and becomes the target of the zombies, who swarm and overwhelm him. With his last breath, Price tells Mary to find Ernie and kill the creep, as it is the only way to stop the zombies. Seductive Leady Death In the dream netherworld, Ernie has found Lady Death, who is awaiting for him in her private chambers. Lady Death lies in bed, barely covered by her silken sheets and Evil Ernie creeps on her bed towards her. Just as Evil Ernie gets close enough to be on top of Lady Death, someone knocks on their door. Evil Ernie is disturbed as the knocking becomes increasingly louder and Lady Death tells him to open the door. Mary Young is on the other side, knocking on a bar door, unaware that it was Ernie's hiding place to enter his dreamworld. Mary bangs on the door, pleading for help against the incoming wave of zombies, but much to her shock, an enraged Ernie is who opens the door.

If this was Superman, Spider-man, or any other comic character, the reader would be know exactly what the character was thinking and it would help fill in holes in the story and give context to why they react to situations the way they do. A dimensional rift opens up inside of in Oklahoma, from it falls a seemingly harmless smiley face pin. Ernie Infiltrates the Black Box, a research facility to create a virus that kills the dead. When William Stone bled himself with , Evil Ernie could influence Stone a little, but he couldn't take over his body. Evil Ernie was momentarily defeated, being separated from Smiley he was weakened and but under cement.
